This annotated bibliography is meant to provide guidance to researchers and students who are interested in agenda-setting in the European Union. It contains articles, books and book chapters that use the term ‘agenda-setting’ or are relevant to understanding agenda-setting without explicitly referring to this term. In order to facilitate a focused search, the publications are presented under various headings, which can be found in the menu on the left. Some publications appear under multiple headings.

Besides the bibliographical details (authors, title, year, etcetera), we have provided a brief description for each publication, which outlines the publication’s main argument and/or focus. These annotations are printed in italics to the right of a publication’s bibliographical data. At the end of each description, you will find a link to the publication's official abstract.

Although great care has been taken to identify relevant publications and provide correct descriptions, the bibliography may contain omissions or errors. If you feel a publication should be added to the bibliography or note an error in the bibliographical details or annotation, please send an e-mail to s.b.m.princen@uu.nl, so we can update the bibliography.
